shoe last

We first opened our doors in 1990 in what was once a 19th Century Victorian shoe factory. Many first-time diners are unaware of the significance of our name until they arrive at the venue set in the heart of one of the oldest parts of Norwich.

When you visit us we hope that you will enjoy the historic atmosphere and the shoe lasts that are evidence of its past occupants. That, though, is where the nostalgia stops. We provide food and wine that will stand comparison with any of our contemporaries.

Our three distinctive dining areas each offer a different ambience. The bar and downstairs areas retain some of the original features from their time as part of the shoe factory. The main upstairs restaurant area offers a modern spacious atmosphere.

To complement our food we offer is an extensive wine list with a selection of over 100 wines. There is a list on the blackboard in the upstairs bar offering wines by the glass. Please ask to see the full wine list in which you will find a selection of good value, interesting and quirky wines.

Once you have booked your table, it is yours for the whole of lunchtime or evening. We want you to enjoy The Last at your own pace and there is only one sitting. The Last Wine Bar is a family-run restaurant and we strive to offer you a warm, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere.

At The Last you will find yourself amongst an eclectic mix of diners and we hope that you will discover that it is a place where you can relax and either enjoy a simple glass of wine, or stay for the whole evening.
